Quality management program by PCCOE Mech Student Chapter of the Institution of Engineers (India)

Two days course on Quality management was conducted by Prof. S K Bhoite, mechanical engineering department and Mr. Sandip Roy, Sr Consultant, Nihilent Software technologies Ltd. During this two day program participants were given hands on exercises as well as lectures which deliberated on topics such as basics of quality management, principles of 5S, Six-sigma, JIT and Kanban.

Objective:

To provide participants with the basic understanding and practice of the approaches and the technique to assess and the improve process/ product/service quality and reliability.

Outcome:

Understand quality management principles and realize its importance in effective functioning of organization. Use quality tools for problem solving. Practice quality management techniques such as 5S’, JIT, Six Sigma, Kan-ban.Understand quality management system. such as 5S’,JIT, Six Sigma, Kan-ban. Understand quality management system.

Achievement:

There were about 28 participants who have given a very positive feedback about the course and demanded for a longer duration course in the future on the same topic.
