National Service Scheme

About us

Objective:

To inculcate social values and social awareness among the students and provide service to society through programs.

Outcome:

Outcome of NSS activities is judged based on number students enrolled vs number of students benefited through the programs.

Organisation and Nature of Work

National Service Scheme comes under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and NSS cell, Higher and Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra. NSS was launched in Gandhiji's Centenary year, 1969-70. Recognizing the imperative for youth from technical backgrounds to actively engage in social development, NSS was introduced at Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering, Nigdi, in the academic year 2008-09. Our aim is to cultivate a sense of social responsibility among students, fostering a culture of voluntary service for the betterment of society. NSS volunteers are dedicated to ensuring that assistance reaches those in need, thereby elevating their quality of life.

In the process of serving the community, our volunteers acquire essential skills such as effective teamwork, organizing various social initiatives, and navigating life with resource constraints. The NSS team at PCCOE engages in social welfare through two primary avenues:

  1. Regular Activities: Ongoing initiatives that address various societal needs.
  2. Special Winter Camp: An annual event aimed at intensifying our impact during the winter months.
